 8 cups apple cider or apple juice
 2 sticks cinnamon (or 2 tsp ground)
 ¼ tsp nutmeg
 1 tsp whole cloves
 1 orange
 1 pinch star anise (optional)

Add apple cider and spices to pot, heat on medium low.

Zest and slice orange. Lightly squeeze and add everything to pot.

Heat, covered, until spices have bloomed and become fragrant.

Enjoy warm or chilled.
